My Music

One of the things that been a constant theme in my life, is music. I grew up singing with my mom and learning harmonies from a young age to accompany her in church. She taught me to strum a guitar when I was 13 and soon I was putting my poetry to music. For many years I have used songwriting as an outlet for my emotions and experiences, and I have had the privilege of recorded two albums of my original music.

My music has always reflected my walk with God and attempted to express the spiritual truths I am grappling with. As I have spent time hiding the Word of God  in my heart, my music has begun to express the stories and principles found therein. I believe that God has been telling a story throughout human history, one rich with themes of faith, mutiny, love, loss, and redemption. And the story continues today. If we really took the Bible seriously we would see that we are a vital part of the story that God is bringing to a glorious finale.

I want my music to draw you into that story; to realize that you are a Bride awaiting a Groom who is coming soon to whisk you away to wedding. I want my music to stir something in you to engage the Word in a way you never have before and to realize there is more than meets the eye, there are timeless truths and principles to change the way we live and to draw us deeper into intimacy with the One who is writing this love story.

My most recent album, The Coming Glory, my second release, is a collection of songs that I wrote while studying the Bible for a year at GCBI. Each song represents a story or a specific principle that resonated with me and compelled me to communicate it with music and my own lyrics. I found that as I studied ancient personalities, their stories were also MY story, in principle. This is the beauty of the Words of God; they are living and active and we are challenged and changed as we let them speak to us. My hope is that these songs tell such stories in new and refreshing ways that will cause you to connect with them deeply. I will sing the Word and let it do the work of drawing God’s people into deeper surrender.
